The list of the 1,000 African companies selected to take part in the Africa-France Summit has been announced!
The General Secretariat of the Africa-France Summit, Digital Africa and the members of the 1000 Entrepreneurs Challenge jury are pleased to announce the list of the 1000 African companies selected to take part in the Africa-France Summit, postponed due to COVID19. We are delighted to note the selection of 60 companies from Cameroon.
Entrepreneurs are invited to the Afrique-France 2020 Summit, which was due to start on June 4, 2020 in Bordeaux, France. Current circumstances linked to the COVID-19 pandemic no longer allow it to take place as planned.
However, the winners will benefit from a dedicated support program, giving them access to financing, training, networking and visibility for their projects. This program is supported by a network of French and African partners, notably through mentoring, networking, scholarships and public and private funding.
For example, they will now have automatic access to the Digital Africa Campus, which is launching a "Resilient Summer School" in July 2020. On the program: free Masterclass cycles focusing initially on entrepreneurial resilience in times of crisis; weekly experience-sharing sessions (meet-ups) by business sector.
The 1,000 Entrepreneurs, with perfect parity between men and women, come from 53 African countries, and are active in the fields of water and sanitation, waste treatment, energy, education, digital technology, agriculture, mobility and more. The majority are between 24 and 30 years old, and have been in business for less than 3 years.
We salute the energy, creativity, resilience and professionalism of these 1,000 African entrepreneurs. France is proud to provide practical, long-term support to help these agents of change bring their solutions to the people of Africa and build the African economies of tomorrow.
