The Cameroonian branch of the global France Alumni network takes off

France Alumni Cameroun: the Cameroonian declination of the global France Alumni platform, will be officially launched this Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Residence de France in Yaoundé. The ceremony will be presided over by His Excellency Mr. Gilles THIBAUT, Ambassador of France to Cameroon, in the presence of Mr. Olivier CHICHE-PORTICHE, Director of the Geographic Coordination Department, representing Mrs. Béatrice KHAIAT, Director General of Campus France. Several Cameroonian administrative and diplomatic authorities, as well as alumni from all walks of life, are expected to attend the ceremony. They include the Minister of Higher Education, the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, etc.

France Alumni Cameroun is a digital platform and socio-professional network dedicated to all former and current Cameroonian students who have attended or are currently attending higher education establishments in France or Cameroon.France Alumni Cameroun is a digital platform and socio-professional network dedicated to all former and current Cameroonian students who have studied or are currently studying at a higher education establishment in France or Cameroon (off-site, online and co-credit courses).Its mission is to support graduates and future graduates of French higher education (here called Alumni) in their professional careers. Once registered with France Alumni, they will be able to:

  • interact with each other and with other international students from France around the world;
  • access training offers, scholarships, internships and jobs;
  • keep up to date with French cultural and tourist news.

The new site also represents an opportunity for the international development of companies, which will find multicultural profiles for their recruitment needs. French and Cameroonian universities will also be able to forge new economic and academic partnerships with each other and with alumni.

STATE OF THE ART

The France Alumni Cameroun website was activated in June 2017. To date, it has approximately :

  • 1420 registered members, among 230,000 members of the worldwide network
  • 20 partner companies that feed the site with job offers, internships and any other opportunities they may have to offer.
  • 08 private institutes of higher education in Cameroon offering off-site training in partnership with France.
  • 80 job and internship offers already published to date.

TARGETS

Membership of the France Alumni Cameroun digital platform is free and reserved for:

  • Cameroonians who have completed a university-level education in France
  • high school students from the AEFE network (Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger)
  • French higher education graduates currently in Cameroon
  • people with non-degree-granting training in any field (French as a foreign language, vocational training - hotel management, cooking, etc.)

The launch of the France Alumni Cameroun network takes place within the framework of the 6th edition of the Salon pour la promotion des études françaises (SAPEF), organized by Campus France Cameroun, and held from November 14 to 16 at the Palais des congrès in Yaoundé. During these 3 days, some 60 exhibitors from French and Cameroonian higher education establishmentsand Cameroonian higher education establishments, as well as companies, will be showcasing their training offers, as well as the jobs and skills required in their various sectors of activity. SAPEF welcomes some 5,000 visitors annually, alternating between Yaoundé and Douala.
