New provisions to be aware of
The March 7, 2016 law on the rights of foreigners in France came into force on November1, 2016. In particular, it aims to better welcome and integrate foreigners in France, as well as to attract mobility of excellence, knowledge and learning.
Several provisions directly concern foreign students and researchers. They are all detailed in the note prepared by Campus France: reform of the medical examination, obligation to give reasons for visa refusals, multi-annual residence permit, extension of the conditions of access to the APS (Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour), creation of the talent passport, working vacation visa...
