Are you eligible for ARPE?

Announced last April, ARPE (Aide à la Recherche du Premier Emploi) is now available to young international graduates of French higher education. You can apply up to four months after graduation.

Does this apply to me ?

Are you a former international student who has just graduated from French higher education and is now looking for a job? If you were a grant holder on social criteria, or an apprentice with limited resources during your last year of study, you may be eligible for theARPE(Aide à la Recherche du Premier Emploi ) scheme.

Thisfinancial aid is designed to help younggraduates on modest incomes to enter the job market. Paid out over a four-month period, it can take the form of an extension of the grant received during the final year ofstudies, or a monthly contribution of 300 euros for students who were apprentices. According to the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research, 126,000 young graduates are already eligible for this financial aid.

What conditions must be met?

DUT, BTS, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, engineering diplomas... TheARPE applies to professional diplomas, and international students who have completed these courses are eligible. The first condition is that applicants must have completed their studies and be under 28 years of age.

Second condition: income level. Applicants must have received a grant based on social criteria (grades 0 bis to 7) during the year in which they obtained their degree. TheARPE also applies to you if you obtained your diploma through anapprenticeship and your total gross income does not exceed 33,100 euros.

Please note that theARPE cannot be combined with the revenu de solidarité active (RSA), the garantie jeunes (youth guarantee), an apprenticeship contract or a professionalization contract.

What steps do I need to take?

You can apply forARPE on the CROUS website up to four months after the publication of your final exam results. Further details and a list of documents to be provided can be found on the Ministry of Education website.
